Change is in the air at Creative

As some of you may have noticed already, Creative Composition is now the official home of the Graphic Fox! The Graphic Fox has had over 45 years’ worth of design and printing experience and we couldn’t be happier to be able to incorporate their knowledge and spirit going forward! Creative Composition has four new faces being added to our team and we couldn’t be happier with the energy and expertise they bring to the table.

So who are these fine folks? Here’s a little sneak peek:

Brett:  Brett is a Chico native with years of experience in the printing industry. You may have seen Brett knocking down some pins at the bowling alley, where he competes in some tournaments with the local leagues.

Mary Jane:  Mary Jane is another wonderful sales representative with many years of experience in the industry. Grandma of the Loaf is another title she holds proudly, and while you may begin to think it’s a call to a long standing passion for baking, it is really about her adorable granddaughter.

*Her granddaughter is not a literal loaf of bread.*

Michelle:  Michelle is Chico State alum with 15 years’ experience in the graphic design field. When Michelle isn’t creating magic on the screen she may be keeping herself busy wrangling her three kids, and if the season is right you might see her out at second base on the softball field!

Tim:  Tim is a key part of the production team with 36 years in the graphic production field. When he isn’t working a press, Tim loves to spend his time with his children and his children’s children.  He also has a knack for the BBQ and is known to bless his family and friends with some sweet baby back ribs.

Colors of Scale

Did you know that Creative Composition has been G7 certified? What does G7 even mean? When it comes to printing there are many factors that go into how a final product turns out. There are different scales of color and balance that can all be calibrated differently.

G7 certification means that we are able to consistently deliver output with colors that do not alter whether it’s on our Heidelberg Offset press or one of our other digital machines. Creative Composition has a keen eye in providing our customers with the highest quality product we can produce. With the G7 certification we add more certainty for our customers in knowing that the image that they submit for production will be replicated to near perfection.

The Olympic Dream

The 2020… 2021? Olympics have come and gone after a year of delay. While watching the games one thing I noticed was the wide range in age from the oldest to the youngest competitors. These differences in age are seen throughout every sport and do not seem to be a predictor of whether an athlete will medal.

Momiji Nishiya was one of the youngest competitors to earn gold in the women’s street skateboarding at the age of 13, while Mary Hanna is still competing in the equestrian at the age of 66.

Age is not the limiting factor in people reaching their pinnacles of success. Hard work and determination is more important than the number of days you’ve lived.

The Happenings at Creative

For a small business like Creative Composition Inc, team building doesn’t have to be a complicated endeavor. Our company generally has a small team, so building intimacy and bonds between employees and management can be as simple as lunch.

Creative did that! In March we planned a wonderful potluck for our Creative employees! In honor of St. Patricks Day we had a themed luncheon to celebrate the upcoming holiday. This event took place before the lockdown and it was a nice way to connect with all the employees before we had to social distance.

The day of the potluck our Creative employees cooked up an array of delicious meals from pizza, mac & cheese, beef & broccoli, meatballs and many more. To top it, off we also had St. Patricks themed desserts!

Adding to the fun Chelsea (Marketing Coordinator) incorporated a fun contest for our employees "How Many Candies Are in That Jar." The big winner of the day was Justin Hendry with a guess of 186 beating out his dad Steve Hendry by 1 number. The winning number was 178, way to go Justin!

Congratulations to our winner and a big thank you to all our participants aka Creative employees it was definitely a day to remember!

The Happenings at Creative

This month marks a decade at our Chico location and we couldn’t be more proud to have fostered so many connections over the years since our humble beginnings in 1968.

Creative is proud to celebrate where we come from, and to celebrate how we’ve changed. To showcase where we first got our start we have provided a timeline of the past 52 years here.

Creative has been providing print goods with stellar design and superb quality to the masses and we couldn't be more appreciative of all the projects we have worked on these past years.

10 years means a lot to us, which is why we wanted to show our gratitude. We can only say thank you to the unfathomable amount of people that have made Creative Composition possible, and cheers to the next 10 years!

Creative Spotlight: Tree of Eden

Tree of Eden is a Chico tree service dedicated to high quality tree care. They provide excellent services in everything from removals, trimmings, stump grinding and many more! The owner Joshua prides himself on taking the best care of all local and outlying communities.

After years as a wild land firefighter Joshua went onto get his degree in forestry and fire science. He then became interested in residential applications of tree work. With 14 years of chainsaw work and tree falling under his belt he now has the skill and capabilities to help create a positive change in his community.

Tree of Eden prides themselves on family, customer service, and safety, and here at Creative Composition we pride ourselves with the same line of values. Creative has done business with Tree of Eden for quiet sometime. We created everything from direct mailers, Best of Chico signs, and vehicle wraps.

This time Joshua reached out to Bob Rounsaville in Sales for a new vehicle wrap that would catch customers attention and Creative did not disappoint! It is always a pleasure working with Joshua and we're happy he continues to come to us for his print & marketing needs.

Tree of Eden serves all surrounding areas including Paradise, Magalia, Durham, Gridley, and Oroville. As a local tree service company Joshua and his team are ready to help!

The Happenings at Creative

If there is one thing the founders at Creative Composition are passionate about, it's family values. While they are fiercely in tune with printing and marketing best practices, our values shine above all else.

One way in which we continue to carry out our family values is by being selfless. This month we had a handful of employees who pulled out no stops to help the Creative Team get through this busy holiday season.

In the spirit of giving we had several employees bring in several food & beverage items. They brought in everything from delectable donuts, snacks, coffee & holiday drinks to share. We are proud to have such a strong team! They have come together to help provide a quick pick me up this Thanksgiving month.

Thank you to our Creative employees!

"Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results." --Andrew Carnegie
