The Happenings at Creative

In October we hosted yet another company-wide competition. We wanted to jump start Fall with our 3rd annual pumpkin decorating contest & spooktacular bake-off.

All employees were invited to participate and submit their best designs and most tasty treats. For this haunting day to celebrate the accomplishments and hard work of our employees we also provided a company luncheon to add to the fun.

Each employee was given a Styrofoam pumpkin and two weeks to create their amazing designs. As for the bake-off our employees were able to bring in any dessert that was in the spectrum of Fall & Halloween.

We had an overwhelming amount of entries that varied from cute witches to spooky clowns, and skull brownies to pumpkin cheesecake. The top 3 were selected from each competition via a popular vote from our creative customers & employees.

The results are in and everyone is excited! The winners were awarded medals, ribbons, cash prizes and of course bragging rights.

Congrats to all our winners!

Creative Spotlight: Run for Food

Run for Food began in 2006 when a group of Chico families and businesses saw the amazing impact the Jesus Center has by providing food and services to those in need in Chico. Knowing the Jesus Center is funded solely by community support, they came together to organize the Thanksgiving Day run/walk benefiting the Jesus Center.

Run for Food is a close partner with Creative Composition and we have done business with them for quite some time. Run for Food relies on us to design and print eye-catching and bold posters to announce exciting projects and events.

It is always a pleasure forging and fostering partnerships within the Chico community. Here at Creative, we have a passion for making a positive impact and we are grateful to work with a non-profit like Run for Food.

If you're interested in spending this Thanksgiving morning working up an appetite, helping our local community, and enjoying the beauty of Bidwell Park. Check out the link below to sign up!

Please join Run for Food this year for their 14th Annual Run for Food! This 5K run/walk will begin and end at the One Mile Recreation Area of Bidwell Park on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2019, at 9 am.

Behind the Scenes: AB Self-Storage & CJ's Last Chance Diner

Established in 1998, AB Self-Storage serves solely the Butte County community with an emphasis on Chico. They are the prime example of a local business that caters quite well to the local community. This is just one of the reasons we love working with AB Self-Storage.

Celeste the owner came to Creative looking to have several impactful projects designed for their company. We have partnered with AB Self-Storage for many other different marketing materials they needed; from mailers to menu's, and everything in between. But this time, Celeste wanted some several big-ticket items.

That’s how the AB self-storage sign, truck wrap, and golf cart wrap (this is in the works) was born! Our Signage Manager Brandon went straight to work to create all three of these sleek and on-brand designs for AB self-storage. The end product was fantastic!

If you're in the market for storage or a quick bite to eat check out AB Self-Storage & CJ's Last Chance Diner! They can be found off Highway 99. Celeste, thank you for choosing Creative for your print and marketing needs we truly enjoyed designing these unique projects.

The Happenings at Creative

On September 27th, Creative Composition attended Chico States Fall Vendor Fair. What is a Vendor fair? Many departments at Chico State are looking for particular merchants to help them build their division and market their opportunities.

If there’s one type of event that can deliver real business profits for all participants, it’s definitely a vendor show. Not only did such an event help our company find new leads but they also helped foster growth within the industry through experience sharing.

To catch the attention of the prospect we created an interactive game called Plinko that truly brought a crowd to our booth. The big prize of the afternoon our Klean Kanteens! Our marketing materials helped create great opportunities to reinforce our brand. From Creative calendars, notepads, pens, and candy, everyone walked away a winner.

Creating contacts is truly where the magic happens. During the fair we encountered many prospects looking for a trustworthy print & marketing solutions company, we had the potential to make an impactful impression and create future orders.

Big thanks to Chico State for inviting us to attend for the 2nd year in a row! Looking for your own custom printed game? Head over to get a quote now!

Behind the Scenes: Cellar Door Cider

Always look to the bright cider of life

We all know the world of wine is ever-expanding. However, many beverage connoisseurs have yet to catch on to an under-sung sector of wine: cider. Bryan Shaw over at Cellar Door Cider gave Creative Composition the opportunity to tour his facility and learn more about the process of creating cider.

Bryan is a producer of fine, handcrafted hard apple ciders made from freshly harvested Northern California apples in Chico CA. To help differentiate Cellar Door Ciders from others they use 1 type of apple for each blend. For example, Newtown Pippin or the Arkansas Black apple these unique apples help lend different flavors and structural components.

Bryan came to us needing several different types of print and marketing material prior to his events to Taste of Chico and Red Bluff Beef 'n' Brew. He worked directly with Bob in (Sales) & Rosemary (Graphic Design) to help create a banner, nutrition labels, and keg collars.

It was a pleasure working with Bryan and helping him develop the print and marketing materials he needed to showcase his fantastic ciders. Cellar Door Cider offers $5 dollar tastings for their 7 ciders and is located at 11 Commerce Court, Suite #2, in Chico CA.

Bryan strives to take the hard cider experience to a whole new level with beverages of layered, complex flavors and aromas worthy of tasting.

The Happenings at Creative

Did you know the best way to our employees’ hearts is through their stomachs? You see, we have found a workplace-enhancing benefit from the simple activity of holding a friendly lunch.

Thanks to our friendly neighbor Tacos El Grullense who was eager to recreate a menu for their taco truck. Leo the owner reached out to Creative to make this project happen. In order to get the menu ready, Leo needed photos of the food, designing of the menu, and printing/placement on his taco truck.

On a Friday afternoon, Leo prepared every dish on his menu from his famous street tacos to a more exotic dish like his barbacoa. Our Marketing Coordinator Chelsea Perez helped photograph all menu items with the help of Rosemary Derby (Graphic Design) and Kim Larios (Customer Service) to help get the perfect lighting for the shoot.

Leo was very kind to prepare all food items on the menu for the Creative team. We love that we were able to help Taco Grullense with this project and we appreciate the generosity. Leo the food was delicious!

Creative Spotlight: Butte Humane Society

The Journey Home...

Butte Humane Society has been helping lost, abandoned and abused animals in the Chico area since 1911. For 108 years they have helped thousands of furry friends find food, shelter, medical care, and ultimately their forever homes through the efforts of many caring individuals.

Thanks to their ongoing efforts to help our local community Butte Humane Society has launched a capital campaign to raise funds to build a new animal shelter. This shelter will offer exciting opportunities to care for animals and allow them to expand.

With over 10,000 square feet of animal space and plenty of wide-open community spaces it will be an amazing place to adopt, volunteer and learn.

Behind the Scenes: Glenn County

A Story About a Pretty Unique Project

Glenn County had recently entered into the California State Fair’s 2019 Competitive Exhibits Program. For this program, they were challenged to create a display environment about their county that would encourage patrons to interact with their messaging and to share with friends & family.

The theme “Picture Yourself In…” presented the idea on any topic or a combination of topics in a compelling representation of their county.

To help create an exceptional display Jody Samons the community development director reached out to Creative for the job. She came to us needing several types of marketing, print and signage materials to design their display. She worked directly with our lead designer Scott and lead signage Brandon to create and deliver a rotating 12ft display with four interactive components.

I have a long successful relationship with Creative and I am thankful for their continuous quality of service and for helping create a beautiful display for our county.

Here at Creative, we love new challenges and while some people might struggle to overcome them our Creative Team was able to meet them with confidence. It was a pleasure working with Jody and helping her develop the signage materials she needed to showcase this fantastic new project!
