Heidelberg Printing Press

Hot Off the Presses

Creative Composition is taking a leap forward in the printing industry in Northern California with the installment of a Speedmaster CX 75 Heidelberg Printing Press.

Why did Creative Composition choose Heidelberg?

There are several reasons Heidelberg is world renown as one of the finest press manufacturers. Their quality is unsurpassed as the stability of the system creates accurate color through the run. This machine is highly automated and sets up fast and runs quickly allowing us to provide competitive pricing. Its flexibility ranges from light weight papers up to heavy board. The press has a large sheet size so it can run 6 up in the standard 8.5”x 11” format, as well as posters, packaging, labels, presentation folder and more. This means Creative Composition can produce a very wide range of products and pass on efficiency to our customers.

Mike Refilling Ink Rollers

What does this mean to our clients?

  • 15,000 impressions per hour – It’s very FAST! That means faster turn times for those HOT print projects.
  • Make-readies in 10 minutes or less – Again, it’s incredibly fast! Multiple press OKs will now be done in a fraction of the time.
  • Color stability through the run – This press has the most advanced print technology in the industry. The press scans the color as it’s printing to ensure the run is consistent, whether you are printing 1000 or 100,000.
  • We have a coating unit to add the finishing touches like aqueous or varnish to make you project pop.

An open house is to be announced sometime in 2021 when we can all safely get back together. We would love for you to join us on a tour through our manufacturing facility as we show you how printing projects comes to life. If you don’t want to wait, call Mark Hendry at 530.924.2408 for a private tour.

In Closing

We look forward to serving Northern California businesses with best-in-class printing, direct mail advertising and marketing. If you have a project you have been thinking about and would like to get a quote please reach out to us www.creativecomp.com.

Special thanks to PG&E, Santos Construction, JT Martin Construction, and Egan Electric for their help in getting this press on our manufacturing floor.

The Happenings at Creative

For a small business like Creative Composition Inc, team building doesn’t have to be a complicated endeavor. Our company generally has a small team, so building intimacy and bonds between employees and management can be as simple as lunch.

Creative did that! In March we planned a wonderful potluck for our Creative employees! In honor of St. Patricks Day we had a themed luncheon to celebrate the upcoming holiday. This event took place before the lockdown and it was a nice way to connect with all the employees before we had to social distance.

The day of the potluck our Creative employees cooked up an array of delicious meals from pizza, mac & cheese, beef & broccoli, meatballs and many more. To top it, off we also had St. Patricks themed desserts!

Adding to the fun Chelsea (Marketing Coordinator) incorporated a fun contest for our employees "How Many Candies Are in That Jar." The big winner of the day was Justin Hendry with a guess of 186 beating out his dad Steve Hendry by 1 number. The winning number was 178, way to go Justin!

Congratulations to our winner and a big thank you to all our participants aka Creative employees it was definitely a day to remember!

Creating a Logo That Gets You Noticed

Your logo is a visual representation of everything your company stands for. Think of McDonald’s golden arches or the Nike swoosh-these two impressive logos embody these companies well. But many companies are still missing their key identity piece to set them apart.

Ideally, your company logo enhances potential customers and partners’ crucial first impression of your business. A good logo can build loyalty between your business and your customers, establish a brand identity, and provide the professional look of an established enterprise.

Background Logo CCGetting Started

Before you begin sketching or learning how to design a logo, first articulate the message you want your logo to convey. Try writing a one-sentence image and mission statement to help focus your efforts. Stay true to this statement while creating your logo.

Here are some additional tactics and considerations that will help you create an appropriate company logo:

Look at The Logos of Other Businesses in Your Industry
  • Do your competitors use solid, conservative images, or flashy graphics and type? Think about how you want to differentiate your logo from those of your competition.
Focus on Your Message
  • Decide what you want to communicate about your company. Does it have a distinct personality-serious or lighthearted? What makes it unique in relation to your competition? What’s the nature of your current target audience? These elements should play an important role in the overall design or redesign.
Make it Clean And Functional
  • Your logo should work as well on a business card as on the side of a truck. A good logo should be scalable, easy to reproduce, memorable, and distinctive. Icons are better than photographs, which may be illegible if enlarged or reduced significantly.
Your Business Name Will Affect Your Logo Design
  • If your business name is “XO Jewelers” you may wish to use a classy, serif font to accent the letters (especially if your name features initials). For a company called “Lightning Fast Printing,” the logo might feature some creative implementation of lightning.
Use Your Logo to Illustrate Your Business’s Key Benefit
  • The best logos make an immediate statement with a picture or illustration, not words. The “Lightning Fast Printing” logo, for example, will convey the business benefit of “ultra-fast, guaranteed printing services.” The lightning image is used to manipulate and suggest speed and assurance.
Don’t Use Clip Art
  • However tempting it may be, clip art can be copied too easily. Not only will original art make a more impressive statement about your company, but it’ll set your business apart from others.
Avoid Trendy Looks
  • If you’re redesigning your old logo, you run the risk of confusing customers-or worse, alienating them. One option is to make gradual logo changes but doesn’t plan to make multiple logo changes. Instead, choose a logo that will stay current for 10 to 20 years, perhaps longer. That’s the mark of good design.

If you’re in the market to update your current logo or create a new logo from scratch Creative Composition can help! We have an amazing in-house graphic design team to help ease the process and help you create the perfect logo for your company. We can easily help you accomplish all the tactics above with ease and make sure you leave confident with your new design.

Creative takes pride in our ability to grow businesses with our marketing expertise. We would love to find out how we can help personalize a logo for you. To find out more information please give us a call at (530) 924-2400 or email us at info@creativecomp.com

The Happenings at Creative

In February, we welcomed the day with a wonderful surprise by one of our Creative employees! Thank you, Patty (CSR) for surprising the team with a catered luncheon for Valentine's, Day.

The event catered by one of our own here in Chico Shelley's Catering. Shelley offers catering and meal planning services from personalized meals to a full out catered event.

The day of the luncheon Shelley and her team served up a delicious meal with chicken tamales, beans, rice, salad, chips, and salsa. To top it off she also created Valentine's Day inspired cupcakes for dessert.

Adding to the fun Roxanne (Accounts Receivable) incorporated a fun contest for our employees "How Many Candies Are in That Jar". The big winner of the day was Scott Sleeper one of our talented graphic designers with a guess of 118 and the winning number 119. Way to go Scott!
